The Research Centre
Hosmotic srl has a modern Research Centre dedicated to scientific research, industrial development and specialised training, with cutting-edge skills and expertise in the sector, maintaining a strong competitive advantage in chemical-analytical technologies, a field that demands the highest technological standards.
This industrial development policy has allowed the company to establish itself as a leader not only in scientific research but also in industrial development, commercial promotion and everything that best characterises the fitting-out of a chemical laboratory.
In particular, the R&D department supports its customers within national and EU programmes for scientific research, pre-competitive development, technology transfer and industrialisation.
Thanks to its multidisciplinary team and flexible structure, the company continuously invests in the development of new technological applications and new products.
Know-how
Alongside its industrial, commercial and applied research activities, Hosmotic srl specialises in technological applications based on supercritical fluids, on both pilot and industrial scale, with particular attention to the analytical control of processes.
The cooperation of several Italian companies with specific expertise gave rise to the first highly specialised industrial network.
Processes
- SFE Extraction
- SFF Fractionation
- SFP Pasteurisation
- SFC Chromatography
- SFM Micronisation
- SFWE High-pressure H2O extraction
The rapid integration of this modern technology with advanced spectrometry or chromatography systems completes the technological structure behind the system, optimising applications while generating more competitive production cycles.

The high level of specialisation of its staff has led Hosmotic to its current multi-sector profile, operating along the entire chain of analytical chemistry and chemical engineering, both at industrial and laboratory level.

Great technical and scientific expertise, constant control of all operating procedures and the relentless pursuit of the highest level of technology make Hosmotic srl the ideal partner for industry and scientific research.
Long experience in this field gives us a great ability to listen, to fully understand each customer's expectations and to plan our work according to their real needs.

Analytical methods
Hosmotic srl also offers development and validation of analytical methods based on chromatographic, spectrophotometric and mass spectrometry techniques, in compliance with the main international validation procedures.

Hosmotic srl, together with its controlled university spin-off Theoreo srl, provides technical consultancy and advanced metabolomics and bioinformatics services.
From this synergy, and thanks to the advanced technology available at the Research Centre, several diagnostic tests unique in the world have been developed, both in their field of application and in their analytical approach.
M.A.MA Test
Non-invasive diagnostic test for prenatal diagnosis (NIPD). The M.A.MA test (Metabolomics Approach for MAlformation) is based on the bioinformatic analysis, through classification models and machine learning, of the metabolome extracted from a single drop of maternal blood. It is therefore a non-invasive method, safe for both mother and child. The test is currently "patent pending" and Theoreo srl is conducting a large clinical trial to validate it according to the strictest international standards.
K.E. Test
Diagnostic test for endometrial carcinoma, one of the most serious cancers affecting women. This test is also "patent pending" and will shortly undergo a clinical trial to validate it according to the strictest international regulations.
